We obey A.A.’s Steps and Traditions because we really want them for ourselves. It is no longer a question of good or evil; we conform because we genuinely want to conform. Such is our process of growth in unity and function. Such is the evidence of God’s grace and love among us. A.A. COMES OF AGE, p. 106
It is fun to watch myself grow in A.A. I fought conformity to A.A. principles from the moment I entered, but I learned from the pain of my belligerence that, in choosing to live the A.A. way of life, I opened myself to God’s grace and love. Then I began to know the full meaning of being a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Hang in there, Sean. It sounds like you have a lot going on for so early in sobriety! I also went back to school when I first got sober. I can appreciate how stressful that can be. Remember to “Take It Easy” and live “One Day at a Time.” Everything else will happen in god’s time. Have faith!

Today is 87 days of living sober. I tried before and went 3.5 years until the person I really oved left. My life fell apart then until recently went outpatient treatment. I went because I had a drinking problem, the DUI was just the intervention. So now I need to get back in contact with my kids again. In the mean time went back to school and to get my degree in computer information systems. I miss my kids everyday, tryin to tell myself it ain’t no use. But that little voice keeps says, “Don’t give up.” So I keep tryin and take one day at a time. So I want to leave with “What I do TODAY is important BECAUSE I am exchanging a day of my LIFE for it.” Thank you,
Sean
